Gateway advises Ummah Finance

Gateway, the international professional services firm operating in the Islamic economy, today announced its appointment by Ummah Finance.

The appointment, by way of retainer, envisages the provision of a wide range of legal and professional services relating to Islamic finance, and the banking and finance sector in general.

Ummah Finance was established in November 2016 and is part of a new wave of FinTech companies seeking to challenge the established banking industry.  The company is intending to launch its range of mobile retail products during the first half of 2018.

Ummah Finance’s CEO, Hassan Waqar, said: “We have very ambitious plans to reconfigure the way Islamic finance products are provided to the public and our appointment of Gateway is indicative of our desire to have an integrated holistic approach to the Islamic economy and wider community”.

Gateway’s CEO, Ashley Freeman, said “We have been following developments at Ummah Finance for some time.  They have a smart young team, great ideas and enormous potential to revolutionise the consumer experience in Islamic finance.  We are very excited about this opportunity to work together”.
